A Mindset Shift

I posted on Facebook today that there is only 47 days until spring - can you tell I am excited for some sunshine? ☀️

It’s easy to catch the winter blues - it’s cold, the days are short + it gets dark quickly. I realized that this was something I struggled with - and many others - back in December 2020. Going into the new year, I decided I was going to do something different to uplift my spirits - a gratitude journal. So in 2021, I tried most days to write in my gratitude journal. I have tried journaling on and off throughout the years but it lacked consistency. I found myself wanting to write, but never committing to it.

Enter my gratitude journal.

Basically it’s a combination of a couple different journaling prompts that I found I needed to guide my life and start my days off in the right foot. Since it’s a create your own type of method, you can fit it to your personal life. This is what works for me:

3 things I am grateful for, 1 AWESOME thing that happened in the last 24 hours, a morning prayer + 1 worry I am giving to God today.

Gratitude Journal

This is what helps me get my mindset off on the right foot. Even if I wake up on the wrong side of the bed, thinking about the things I am grateful for and letting go of a worry help me. Although there have been plenty of times when I still struggle with a major worry, it’s brings a few moments of peace.

One year in and I decided to do it again for 2022. It’s a way for me to account for major milestones in my life but also start my day off with some positivity.

But guess what? It doesn’t have to be Jan. 1 for you to do something for yourself. You can start on any day to make your day a little brighter - because we always have something to be grateful for.

Oh and of course - my stationary obsessed self has a few recommendations for you!

  1. Pendelton Notebooks: Okay, this was a TikTok inspired purchase, but they give be a beautiful western vibe! These are very high quality and are next up for my work notebooks! I’ve been loving the Pendelton prints lately and these notebooks are no different.

  2. Kate Spade: This isn’t the exact one I am using for 2022 (mine is green + says The Grass is Always Greener) but it’s the same type as the one linked. The paper thickness is on point and makes me feel incredibly boujee. So yes, add to cart, please!

  3. Cow Print: Cow print may be in, but I have been rocking the cow print and cowhide vibes since ‘97. Like seriously, my nursery was the ‘Cow Jumped Over the Moon’ themed. Of course, I think this is a great option for those who have always loved cow print or those who are staying trendy in 2022.

Yep, I’m an Amazon associate - which means I earn a small percentage if you shop from my links and qualifying purchases. I only share products I use and love myself, so you can have my personal recommendation. Anything earned gets reinvested into my small business as I grow my dream.
